Kim, thank you for connecting with Flexion!

We’re bringing together a small, invitation-only group of CMS leaders and subject-matter experts for a conversation focused on optimizing post-acute care program integrity.

The discussion will explore technology and the art of the possible—connecting data, policy, payment, and technology to help shape what comes next.

We’d be glad to have you be part of the conversation.

The meeting

The next step isn't a technology challenge alone.

Post-acute care is entering a period of significant change. New capabilities in data integration, analytics, and AI are opening possibilities for program oversight that weren't realistic even a few years ago. But meaningful progress sits at the intersection of data, policy, payment, technology, and human experience.

With deep experience supporting federal healthcare programs, Flexion is bringing together a select group of CMS leaders and subject-matter experts to identify the challenges that matter most and help shape what comes next across nursing homes, hospice, and post-acute care. These perspectives don't often end up in the same room. This time, we want yours there.

What to expect

Two sessions, one goal: realizing the art of the possible.

SESSION 01

Kickoff session

Early November 2026 · Time & location TBC with participants

An exploratory discussion ahead of the February Roundtable, a small, invitation-only executive session to identify the challenges and opportunities that warrant executive attention.

  • Rethinking disparate data. Connecting Nursing Home, Hospice & PAC sources (quality, assessment, survey & certification, claims) to optimize oversight.
  • Shaping the Roundtable agenda. Reviewing a conceptual framework for February; input on topics, panels, and breakout structure.
SESSION 02

Executive Roundtable

Mid-February 2027 · Baltimore, MD · Venue & time to be announced

A full day moving from broad conversation to focused work.

  • Technical expert panels. A dynamic morning of moderated conversations, government and industry voices in the same room, working through real constraints out loud. Fewer slides, more candor.
  • Breakout sessions. The afternoon organizes attendees into smaller tracks around specific problem areas. Each track closes with a short report-out, so the day ends with concrete next steps.

Why this matters

The oversight opportunity hiding in fragmented data
+

CMS oversees more than 30,000 post-acute care providers, with critical functions for ensuring proper payment, appropriate certification, and high quality, all leveraging various data sources. Technologies exist now that can optimize program surveillance and oversight, including through data integration.

Claims data, survey and certification data, and patient/resident assessment data serve key purposes, for separate programs, run by separate teams. What if technology could synchronize these sources to optimize oversight, including early detection of risk and potentially hidden waste, fraud, and abuse? Modern technologies can make the optimal possible, through fast, low-risk wins.

What Flexion aims to achieve

Three principles guiding the series
+
GOAL 01

Prove value without a large bet

The strongest modernization wins start as a small, working prototype against real data, not a multi-year business case. Value should show up in weeks, not years.

GOAL 02

Government and industry at one table

The best ideas about program integrity come from the people closest to the problem: policy leads, investigators, and the technologists building the tools.

GOAL 03

Practical over theoretical

We're less interested in a framework nobody uses than in a discrete use case, a defined problem we can build solutions toward quickly.

Who is Flexion?

Why we're convening the conversation, not just attending it
+

Flexion is an adaptive software delivery partner that works inside CMS's systems, which is why we're convening this conversation rather than just attending it. We partner with government agencies and commercial organizations to build adaptable systems that are easy and affordable to change as policy and technology shift. Our expertise lies in surfacing patterns in fragmented, complex systems and making them adaptable as models and regulations evolve.

◆

AI Enablement

We help organizations identify realistic AI-driven improvements and build a clear, prioritized path to act on them.

◆

Product Modernization

We take legacy systems apart carefully and rebuild them as modular, flexible platforms, not a multi-year, all-or-nothing rewrite.

◆

Cloud & DevOps

We operate secure, compliant, resilient cloud environments and embed practices that make change routine instead of disruptive.

◆

Strategic Advisory

We help leaders align technology decisions with long-term strategy, what needs to happen now, and what should stay flexible later.

Our federal partnerships

Flexion is a current technology partner to CMS, HHS, CDC, GSA, the U.S. Tax Court, USGS, and other federal and state agencies. Through Flextone, our SBA 8(a), MBE, DBE, and SDB-certified joint venture, we deliver in regulated, public-sector environments built for accountability.
